| What is Teens in Action? Teens in Action is a program built to function like a club. It’s where youth learn respect, responsibility, and how to work together while they are having fun. Adult leaders offer support and guidance through mentors, motivation, and a teaching approach that integrates community service with academic study to enrich learning, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities. | Why give a few bucks? 100% of proceeds from Jeans for Teens go straight to providing a safe place for teens to go after school at any of our locations. According to the After School Alliance: •Teens who participate in afterschool are less likely to skip class, use marijuana and other drugs, smoke, drink alcohol or engage in sexual activity. •79% teens who participate in afterschool programs are “A” or “B” students. Teens who do not engage in afterschool activities are five times more likely to be “D” students than teens who are participating in an after school program. Camp Fire USA’s Teens in Action program is free for all youth (except youth at the De Zavala). Scholarships must be raised annually to continue providing this positive program for youth. It is our hope that by addressing these underlying problems, the next generation will be better equipped to become caring, confident youth, and future leaders. |
