KIDS CARE is a state licensed childcare facility. We currently provide after school care
for children in 13 area schools. Camp Fire USA Panhandle Plains Council and the
Amarillo, Bushland, and River Road Independent School Districts work cooperatively to
provide childcare on-site in neighborhood schools. KIDS CARE has been in existence
in the Amarillo area since 1989. Programs are administered by trained staff and must
meet Camp Fire's national standards, as well as state licensing requirements. Site
staff are required to be CPR and first-aid certified. Teachers must receive a minimum of
15 hours of training annually. The child to staff ratio is 15 to 1. KIDS CARE has been
awarded the prestigious Texas Rising status by meeting a set of superior qualifications.
